COVID - 19 Update 7:30pm

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to advise that our school will be closed tomorrow following the Premier McGowan’s announcement earlier today.

The Perth metropolitan area and the Peel and South West regions are moving to a 5-day lockdown effective at 6pm, Sunday 31 January, 2021 until 6pm Friday, 5 February 2021.

This means all public schools in these regions will be closed this coming week.  Our teachers and school staff will also remain at home. This will be an extension of the school holidays and no lessons or supervision will be provided.

Public schools in all other areas of the State return on Monday 1 February.

Information about the lockdown is available on https://www.wa.gov.au/government/announcements/perth-metro-peel-and-south-west-enter-hard-lockdown .  The latest health information is available through https://www.healthywa.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/Coronavirus  .

I will provide more information during the week about school arrangements beyond Friday.

Coronavirus Update 04.06.2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Premier announced on the 29th May 2020 that the State is moving into Phase 3 of the WA Roadmap to ease COVID-19 restrictions on the Saturday, 6th June 2020.
As a part of this announcement, parents/guardians will be able to enter school grounds to drop off or pick up their children from the 8th June 2020.

There has been resounding feedback from parents and visibly noted by staff that our student’s independence in transitioning from the Wedgetail Court entrance to the classroom at pick up and drop off time has developed positivity across the COVID-19 pandemic.

I encourage you to continue using Wedgetail Court as a Kiss and Ride drop off and pick up location if you wish to carry on with this arrangement. Our staff will continue to be available to support this transition.

If you wish to enter school grounds to pick up and drop off your child you are welcome to do this, but I request you respect the teaching and learning continuing in the classroom and meet your child’s teacher outside the classroom door.
Additional to this, our Term 2 Assembly will be planned for the end of the term and excursions will re-commence in Term 3.

The State Government will continue to make decisions based on the best health advice. Thank you for your continued support as we move forward.

NOMINATION FOR THE SCHOOL BOARD – PARENT / CARER REPRESENTATIVE

We are seeking two Parent/Carer Representatives to join the School Board.

• Our School Board comprises of the Principal, two elected Staff Representatives, three elected Parent Representatives and one appointed Community Member Representative (7 members in total). 

• The School Board’s roles and responsibilities are;

To take part in:

• Establishing and reviewing from time to time, the school’s objectives, priorities and general policy directions;
• Planning financial arrangements necessary to fund those objectives, priorities and directions;
• Evaluating the school’s performance in achieving those objectives, priorities and directions;
• Formulating school codes of conduct for students at the school; and
• Take part in the selection of, but not the appointment of, the school principal or any other member of the teaching staff if prior approval is given by the Regional Executive Director.

Approve:

• Financial matters pertaining to the running of the school.

Promote:

• The school in the community.
